Abstract

In February 2022, Bekasi City experienced inflation of 0.31 percent with a Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 110.54. Of the seven CPI monitoring cities in West Java Province, all of them experienced inflation. The highest inflation was recorded in Tasikmalaya City at 0.48 percent. The lowest inflation was recorded in Sukabumi City at 0.11 percent.

Of the eleven expenditure groups, eight expenditure groups experienced inflation, one expenditure group experienced deflation, and two expenditure groups experienced no change in index. The highest inflation occurred in the personal care and other services group, experiencing inflation of 0.98 percent; the food and beverage/restaurant supply group experienced inflation of 0.88 percent; the clothing and footwear group experienced inflation of 0.59 percent; housing, water, electricity and fuel groups experienced inflation of 0.46 percent; the transportation group experienced inflation of 0.27 percent; the household equipment, equipment and routine maintenance group experienced inflation of 0.06 percent; the health group experienced inflation of 0.03 percent; the food, beverage and tobacco expenditure group experienced inflation of 0.02 percent. Deflation occurred in the information, communication, and financial services group by 0.09 percent. The groups that did not experience changes in the index were the education group and the recreation, sports and culture group.
